I started making these mixtapes when I was in college and the alternative music revolution was well underway. Lately I have been in a nostalgic mood and I started to wonder what music would have ended up on a mixtape assembled by the 14-year-old Ishmael. So I regressed to my 1985 self and assembled a list of lost "classics" from my youth that, in my estimation, deserve another listen. If you can't sing along to these songs -- well, you're probably a whole lot younger than I am. Artists include Survivor, Big Country, and Def Leppard.
