1. Sit, stand or lie in a comfortable position. Make sure your spine is straight.

2. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen (shown right).

3. Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose. Your abdomen should rise more than your chest. Inhale as much air as possible.

4. Hold your breath for a few seconds.

5. Purse your lips together (like blowing a whistle) and exhale slowly.

6. Repeat this cycle for 5-10 minutes. Focus on body movement and the sounds of your breathing.
