They were brothers, or played in bands, or got around on skateboards, and I remember when they fell in love for the first time, how they told me secrets and kept mine, how we stole fruits and sometime got caught, threw skipping stones, they came to know heartbreak for the first time, i came to know the things that scared them, the places they found courage, how they cried, the hugs they gave, the jokes we told, the games we played. They were the boys when I was a girl... and then we grew up.
