Ok, its been a brutal week at work and who really has any energy left to sweat out at the gym. Wait, what about just making up for the weeks missed workout sessions on a Saturday or Sunday? Yeah, go full throttle and be a weekend warrior. Seems there are lots of mixed thoughts on this topic. Some believe the body can only naturally adapt to the stresses of exercise when performing the same routine on a daily bases to strengthen the heart over time. Others consider weekend exercising only and wear down the body to a point of total exhaustion to build the hearts stamina. Either way, by simply calculating ones target heart rate zone will provide the safe range on how hard to push the heart and for how long during all exercise programs any day of the week.
