Mr. Ramon "Raymond" Luis Ayala Rodríguez aka Daddy Yankee was born Feb 3, 1977 in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. As a young fellow he fancied baseball with hopes of becoming a major league player which led him to try out for the Seattle Mariners. His dream of being a ball player was shattered after spending a year and some recovering from a bullet wound to his leg in a shooting incident. After this experience, his sights were set on carving out a new career in the music industry and in 1995 he released his first solo track “No Mercy.” From there he crossed paths with the likes of DJ Drako, DJ Nelson and DJ Playero which inspired him to transform his model of rap into the cross genre known as Reggaeton.
