What the heck is this about swallowing air while exercising causes flatulence? Seems kind of odd; wouldn’t it simply cause burping like when guzzling a water bottle to stay hydrated? Well some gas experts figure when one squeezes, twists or compresses their belly, the trapped air in the intestines has to find the nearest point exit. Other opinions figure one has to focus on not swallowing air prior to inhaling during the set-up phase of an exercise, or exhaling during exertion. Most believe it has diddly squat to do with those silly conclusions, and has all to do with what was ate several hours before working out and the cause of gas built up which correlates with the ab movements. So that bean and cheese burrito at lunch or afternoon apple or banana could be the blowout culprits. Enjoy!
