Hades and Persephone Vol.1

In the original Greek Mythology Cupid (or Eros) had shot Hades and that made him fall in love with Persephone. Persephone was miserable for many years, thinking that Hades was a terrible God until he gave her a pomegranate that showed how much he cared for her. When Demeter (Persephone's mother) came to bring Persephone back since the trees were dying, Persephone stayed with Hades and went back to Earth to bring Spring and Summer. In the Fall and Winter she went back to Hades. Hades and Persephone truly loved each other.

I like the Hades/Persephone myth but I wish people would take time to learn about the 'original' myths about her. In some of the earliest myths Persephone wasn't a passive girl who was abducted. She heard the cries of the dead and went searching for the noise to comfort them. In another myth, even older, she was the feared queen of the underworld. I like these myths better. It shows a time before men decided to take control and change the stories so they were in charge and in power, and the women were weak and passive creatures.

@MLeah7 I couldn't agree more. These were the stories that I learned as a kid and as I grew up i was so disappointed in Persephone's portrayal.
