In the 60's they called it baroque pop. When it came back in the 90's, they called it chamber pop. Today it's called orchestral pop, symphonic pop, and a host of other names. Whatever label you put on it, combining brass and strings with pop song structures sounds great. Let intricacy reign supreme.
