As the first month of the new year draws to a close, we’re staring down the barrel at month #2 and feeling a little contemplative. The name February either comes from the Etruscan god Februus or februa, signifying the festivals of purification celebrated in Rome during this month.

In other words, it’s party time!

Aside from being the most awkward and difficult month of the year to pronounce (Seriously, is it Feb-roo-ary, Feb-yoo-ary, Feb-ray-ry? Does anyone know?!), February is also crammed full of some of the biggest and oddest celebrations on the calendar. Groundhog Day, The Superbowl, The Grammy & Academy Awards, Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras, even National Margarita Day...they’re all stuffed into this shortest month of the year. Just a mere 28 days long, but it packs a wallop.

So, let’s hear it for the little guy! February, we love you. Be our Valentine?
