Now that we’re done with the whimsical horror of Halloween we just have a few more days of the very real horror of the presidential election. This week will (hopefully) put an end to what has felt like years of nail-biting and night sweats and contingency plans to leave the country. Whatever the outcome, our suggestion is to try not to think about it and instead just listen to patriotic music.

We want to help distract you from impending apocalypse, and we feel the best way to do that is to encourage you to just blast Bruce Springsteen and Creedence Clearwater Revival in your house and drink something with bubbles, or (if you’re of age) some cheap beer out of a can with an American flag on it. It’s the music that really helps us to feel like, for all of the doom and gloom that we talk about in (mostly) joking tones, this country is really a pretty amazing place to live.

Here's a collection that samples some of the most patriotic playlists on 8tracks. Many of them also double as party playlists (the most natural way we show our patriotism, after all), so even if you're not in the mood to think about the state of the nation anymore you can at least have a little bit of fun:
