Another in the series "Celebrating Vinyl" celebrating record labels and the artists that helped bring them to prominence before the compact disc. Atlantic was formed in 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson, and their contributions in the first 20 years signing and exposing rhythm 'n' blues and soul to the world can't be downplayed. For this playlist I've included ATCO records which was owned by Atlantic which in its early years featured more of a pop and early rock 'n' roll presence than its parent company.
