Notes
In the 1970s and 80s songs from Broadway and film took on a decidedly poppier element - befitting the times - in an attempt to reach a younger audience. Producers turned to songwriters like Alan Menken, the Brothers Gibb, and a continued outflow from Andrew Lloyd Webber, among others, to fuel the music and passion required to bring audiences to the seats.
