My home state has a rich history in all types of music which carried over into the spectrum of Rock n Roll. Though always overshadowed by the juggernaut of Motown (from which only one group appears here) the other pop music entreprenuers of the time held their own. In terms of popularity, some of these artists made it quite big while others have been clouded over in the mists of time. Others are now seen as quite influential in the scheme of such things although their record sales didn't register as such. In any case this is a survey of what was going on musically in the state of Michigan during the late sixties and early seventies. Outside of Hitsville, that is.
