Otherwise known as the damsel in distress, the waif is vulnerable but strong, pure and trusting. She has endurance for hardship since troublesome times have often ruled her life. The waif is kind to a fault, her innocence getting her into trouble making her in need of a hero. But she is never to be underestimated as she is strong of mind and will, not easily broken.
