Notes
Southern music encompasses many styles, yet is a unique genre. Many of these songs were written during the darkest, saddest and bloodiest chapter of American history, the Civil War. The most famous and prolific songwriters in the genre was Stephen Foster, who is often referred to as the "father of American music" known for his parlor and minstrel music. Enjoy this collection of wonderful American melodies that pay homage to Foster and the music of those old times!
