The Saz Semai is instrumental classical music dating back to the Ottoman Empire and was typically the closing movement of a fasıl (suite). The saz semai used the usul (rhythmic structure) and generally consisted of in 4 movements in 10/8, 6/4, and returning to 10/8. Enjoy this collection of exotic sounds from Old Turkey!
