There are no easy villains. Our oppression is a system, and its goal is to divide us. It builds walls around our schools and draws lines in our meals and stitches borders into our clothes, and when that cannot stop us it turns us inward so that we divide ourselves. The oppressed must become indivisible, systems must be broken from within. We are the unruly cogs of the machine. We are the resistance.
