Sentimentality is a treasured combination of emotions. It's often considered nostalgia, or a longing for something or someone of the past. But it may be more important than we think - any attachment to what came before guides our decisions for what comes next - from what song to choose, to how we carry ourselves. Why not celebrate that? Why not hold reverence for the moments that stir up sadness and longing inside of ourselves? Without those moments, our lives seem dull, and void of a certain color of experiences so rich they resurfaces via emotion, over and over again.
