As an artist with a mood disorder myself I am very suspicious when a musician's are direct appeals to emotion. I find it obvious and manipulative

I would say Mazzy Star is the real deal. In 94 that was the album that we played over and over again in the west coast scene.

I understand where you're coming from I'm the sense that there are a lot of alternative sounding artists who are just commercial crap and perhaps lana del rey is but the thing is I find that a lot of the lyrics in her songs relate to the stuff I'm going through as a person with borderline personality disorder, regardless of whether she's corporate or not, music speaks to the listener and if I were to just say oh well I don't like her because people say she's too commercial than I would be no better than those people who listen to her because she's popular
