the phantom of the opera is about his need for her voice and his love for her. it is also about her need to follow him and her confusion regarding the phantom's identity as her angel of music. i don't think it's necessarily about two-sided love (as most of the show is), but i do think it's a beautiful song and it's definitely about the phantom's love for his 'angel', christine. :)
