Nate wakes up with a head splitting headache, from one temple to the other, something dried against his face. He assumes this is just the aftermath of a hangover, but the seeds of doubt and the sinking feeling in his stomach send him searching for answers around the house.

When he discovers a note in his father's study, the page worn from being unfolded and refolded from so much rereading, he realizes this is no hangover.

Two days ago, he committed suicide with a handgun and left that note for his family to find... and then, as we all know, he woke back up, as if nothing happened. From the sleepy town of Sunny Brooke, a world he no longer exists in, to it's shadow, a place it's ghostly inhabitants only call After.
