Notes
Today Folk music is overwhelming enjoyed as sing-along material for camp fires and summer adventures. But Folk music has a darker, deeper, side, too. It is tied to the Civil Rights Movement and to company towns, and has always been a vessel for the darker outpourings of creativity as well as the joyous ones.
This is a playlist for those grittier folk songs out there - as well as it's its father and mother, Blues and Hymns.
Made for when I want to write the "down and out" kind of scenes, but also to celebrate the history of folk.
