writer's block

Notes

I recently had to write multiple personal statements for residency applications. While sometimes tedious and certainly anxiety-provoking, I struggled to distill the essence of my story and tell it in a captivating but genuine way. The dissatisfaction with every draft that didn't sound like "me" drove me crazy. To make a long story short, it took some recalibrating with a visit to my family back home and some intense reflection before I had a fresh perspective and a touch of inspiration.

When I actually sat down to write, music (as always!) was key to getting in the right headspace. Here are some of those instrumentals, from the tranquil to the luscious with a hefty dose of inspiration. There are some new tracks as well as ones I haven't used in mixes for a while!

I found this playlist a few months ago, and now it's all I can listen to. I listen when I'm doing homework, cleaning, or calming down. In a strange way it's become a piece of me. Thank you for this work of art.

I have been struggling so much to write my dissertation the whole semester, and now I honestly think this playlist might have saved it! A week and a bit to go, and for the first time I actually believe I can finish it, thank you!

I am already a fan of yours! Thank you so much for every playlist that you have shared! They bring me happiness and peace. In a certain way they help me heal.

vMany thanks for this beautiful playlist. I wish that you have found a great place for your residency and that you are finding happyness

As delicate as the pondering thoughts that float ahead when thinking about one's future. I wish you all the luck in the world with your residency.
