My name is Tyler Read and I am a 29 years young. I grew up in awesome beach town of Santa Cruz California. I traveled off to Sonoma State University for a few years in order to grab my bachelors degree in kinesiology. I am sort of a health and fitness enthusiasts as well. From the time I was a little kid I was very interested in music. Bands like Metallica, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, the offspring and Motley Crue were my go to bands to rock out to. I was particularly interested in electric guitar. There’s something about it that just makes my skin tingle and raise my hairs. I started learning to play at a relatively young age. From there I also started dabbling in drums, bass and a little bit of vocals (I’m a terrible singer though). Music became a strong passion of mine because it spoke to me in a way that no self-help book or college literature ever could.

Fast-forward 10 years and I would find myself falling in love with electronic music. Daft Punk took me by storm and I have not let go of their reins since. I started messing around by creating music on my computer. I started out using GarageBand back when it first came out around 2004. Since then I have switched over to using Windows is my main operating system because I feel like there’s more software that is compatible with it. I have tried almost every single digital audio workstation on the market as of now. I have tried a little bit of everything including Ableton live, Pro tools, Cubase, FL studio, Reason and much more. I have also gone through my fair share of MIDI controllers and other hardware that is necessary for creating music. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Bassnectar, Glitch mob, Avicii, Martin Garrix and much much more.

All in all, I have a well-rounded point of view when it comes to all the tools that are needed to create awesome soundtracks. I decided to take this knowledge and create a helpful site for people just getting started out in the industry. I hope you find my reviews and tutorials extremely valuable. Let me know if you have any tips on how I can improve Psyrox.net. Your opinion is extremely valuable to me. Now get out there and start learning so that you could become the next Deadmau5!
