This is the music that colored my coming of age. It was the soundtrack to my politicization and my forays into lost relationships. It was the background music to drugs and sex and a self awareness that made me insufferably smug. It brought me awareness of poverty and racism and history. I still think it was much more meaningful than the music of the decades that followed. I would be very interested in what a college course brings to its interpretation.
