Birds of a Feather

Notes

“Birds of a feather flock together;” perhaps so and thats why they invented the beach patio umbrella; saves us from those splattering ufo’s. This proverb dates from the 16th century or earlier in this form, but the sentiment it expresses is found in the Apocrypha. Some have speculated the phrase came about in 1545 with the first literary origin being by William Turners "Byrdes of on kynde and color flok and flye allwayes together." It also occurs in a translation of Plato's dialogues by Benjamin Jowatt, published in 1871; “Men of my age flock together; we are birds of a feather.” Maybe its simply a common thread associated with those of similar character or values and continuing on to build strong friendships in numbers throughout our lifetime.
