Can sunlight actually make you sneeze? Is it related to a condition called ACHOO syndrome (Autosomal-dominant Compelling Helio-Ophthalmic Outbursts)? Is it simply due to metabolic biochemical reactions from the suns rays or the dust particles emitted from solar winds? Well it was medically defined back in the 70ies by some otolaryngologists believing that some 20% to 40% of humans have these symptoms; its called "photic sneeze reflex". Others say it’s the scrambled brain signal from the face’s trigeminal nerve, creating impulses around the eye & inside the nose. In other words, our noddle is fooled into thinking that a visual stimulus is a dried nasal mucus, aka “booger.” Wonder if during a thunderstorm the electrified air signals the optic nerve to blow your nose?
