Some believe the Lotus' flower spiritually symbolizes fertility, rebirth, enlightenment, transcendence, & purity. Others have used the Lotus as treatment of fevers, fungal infections, diabetes, liver aliments & bronchitis. The Lotus' traces back to the Egyptians; naturalizing over the centuries into southern Asia & currently is the national flower of Vietnam & India. This aquatic plant of the Nelumbo family grows in the muddy bottom of shallow ponds & lakes which are exposed to direct sunlight, reaching about 45” from its roots to the flowery peddles & leaves which float on the water’s surface.
