War Horse is a term used by Trumpeters to describe music that is bold, requires technical virtuosity and skill, endurance, great sound and tone, the musical sensitivity to perform more than simply hitting the notes. Once used only for solo recitals, all genres embrace it: classical, recital, jazz, dixieland, and big orchestras and bands featuring the trumpet.
