these are some of the songs i liked to listen to while i was growing up and beginning to discover my musical tastes. "she's so unusual" was the first album i ever bought, which says a lot about me. it was on cassette, the current technology at the time. :)

new wave artists had a big influence on my ideas about fashion and gender expression. i was a fan of the weekly tv show "video hits" as it was my only way to see music videos back then. it probably helped boost the canadian content of this playlist, adding to the better known artists from the u.s., u.k., and australia. enjoy!
