This mix is a selection of artists from the late 60s to early 70s who never had a top 40 hit in the US (though some had hits in England) but sound like they should have.
Sure, there are lots of artists from that era who could fit that description, but I've singled out these in particular because these songs have a certain, undefinable charisma that screams "this was a hit, wasn't it?"
Some artists in this mix include Moby Grape, Big Star, N.R.B.Q., VU, and Caravan.

Great mix! It reminds me of listening to WCOL-FM (back in the early 70s) while studying late after midnight at Ohio State.

Your mix reacquainted me with Orpheus. Growing up in eastern Mass in the 70s and hearing it on the radio a lot I thought it had been a major hit.
