such a beautiful playlist for an equally beautiful work of cinema. can we ever forget the truly spectacular moments in cinematic history that speed racer (2008) gave us, like the heart-wrenching climax of the relationship between rex and inspector detector where rex finally says goodbye to his old life for him, or when rex looks on at his own funeral while a teary-eyed yet stoic speed stands over the casket and recites shelley's eulogy for john keats? ("wake, melancholy mother, wake and weep".) this playlist reminded me of everything i felt in those scenes and more. truly lovely work

@buckgaybarnes I completely understand. There are no words for how this movie makes you feel. Watching this movie is an almost unholy experience. I remember the first time I watched it: it was a chilling experience. It had the same kind of effect as a hangover: I couldn't think of a single thing I wanted to do except stay in bed all day and sleep off this intense feeling. You don't watch Speed Racer (2008) without loving it: "Some things, once you've loved them, become yours forever. And if you try to let them go, they only circle back and return to you. They become part of who you are, or they destroy you." This movie is a part of us now. I am permanently rocked by every frame of that movie. You can never go back to a time without Speed Racer (2008), just as you will never be able to move forward without it.

@steamworkblue Thank you for your comment. It is always great to hear back from a fan. However, it would be blasphemy to accept your praise. I have not, nor will I ever be able to surpass the astronomical beauty that is Speed Racer (2008). The movie is on an entirely different level than anything I could ever create. Speed Racer (2008) is not just a work of art, it is the very definition of life itself.

A true masterpeice.. I dont even know how to put into words how this makes me feel... So many things are represented in this playlist. From the rebellious nature of speed to the tragicness of a broken family only held together by a common goal. A truely inspiring piece. The speed racer fandom may be dwindling buts ideals live on through people like you!

@chibichanga Thank you. You know, when I was creating this piece I was really meditating on the futility of human existence. With all of the technology and fast-paced lifestyle that the 21st century has thrust upon us, it is easy for a person to get caught up in the nonsense and forget to live. I feel like that's what this movie really brings us back to. It asks the question: what is the perfect mixture of swiftness and reflection? How fast is too fast? Do you need to sacrifice your family in order to achieve your dreams? These are the questions I think we all need to answer. Are we meant to be the Rex Racer, abandoning everything we know and love for our meaning in life, or are we meant to be the Speed: struggling through not knowing if we will ever find a bigger purpose (or our brother)? These are questions and ideas we all try to put into words. It's almost impossible because we know that we may never find an answer to them. But just like speed: we keep driving. In a way, Speed Racer (2008) is more than just a movie: it's my religion.
