The focus of my dystopia novel, Cut to the Quick, is more on the characters and how they come together. It goes away from the world and into the characters, their surroundings and their actions. It is about love and loyalty, hate and hurt, and repairing a new family out of broken people. It may not be happy at first, but things eventually will get better if one attempts hard to open up, and by luck, the world will change too.
