No one in the crew knows about the voices. It’s for the best, but sometimes it makes things awkward.

Geoff stares at Ryan and Ryan stares back. Neither of them look at the six-inch blade that’s buried in the screen of a very expensive television. Ryan’s hands are shaking but he doesn’t think Geoff has noticed yet. He will eventually, though. Geoff is much more observant than he seems.

“Doing okay there, buddy?” Geoff says eventually, finally glancing over to the knife. “Seems like you got into a fight with the TV.”

“It had it coming,” Ryan says.
