In 2008, MacKenzie McHale and the rest of her four man crew shipped out with the United States Marine Corps. Between navigating their new lives and the ones they’ve left behind, they beam a signal into space for an hour each week out of whatever camp or outpost they happen to find themselves in.

Four years later, Jerry Dantana threatens a lawsuit the likes of which has the potential to bring MacKenzie’s life crumbing around her ears. The only way out is through, and that involves dredging up a past she’d much rather leave in the Middle East.
