Star Platinum has been defeated by The World. However, instead of killing Jotaro, Dio decides to keep Jotaro as his servant. Dio knows that simply placing his flesh bud into Jotaro's brain would be easiest, but easy is never fun. With all the time in the world on his side, Dio begins to work towards breaking Jotaro's resilient spirit at any means necessary. Jotaro spends the next indeterminable amount of time enduring all of Dio's pain; beatings, torture, anything that will work. Given enough time, Dio is certain he will break.
