Beautiful mix, but "g*psy" is a slur. It's not a word for kitschy, free-thinking hippies, it's fucking offensive. Love, a Romani-Bohemian descendant.

@cmenchaca Thanks for listening, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'm genuinely sorry you took offence to my choice of word but I meant no ill intentions by it at all. I've done some research and I believe the word is correct in the context. I didn't intend it to encompass all free-thinking hippies, it was simply a description of the beautiful decorative caravans used by the original Romani travellers (which festival goers would then stay in - not travellers themselves). Something I did not realise before my research was that Romani people were not originally travellers by choice but due to the need to escape discriminatory laws and persecution, and it sounds like the word took on deeply negative connotations during this period so I thank you for educating me further. I take these quotes from 2 articles: -"Romany Gypsies are an ethnic group so it depends on the way you are using it. If you use it in the correct context it is not racist. However, it can still be used as a slur and that is racist." -"There are Romanies (like myself) who take no offence to the word, and in fact have embraced it. You will often see the word capitalised in academic texts and Romani communities (if used) to distinguish us as a race of people, not a lifestyle choice." Due to the context and my intentions I don't believe it to be a slur. I will, however, capitalise it as it seems more appropriate with my new understanding. I considered deleting your comment for a moment because I personally don't like swearing and find it unnecessary but I'm all for free speech, so long as no one's being abusive. I wish you all the best.

I was having one of those days you just see everything pale and gloomy, one of those moments when you just wanna curl into a ball and disappear... this playlist went in as a mood changer, im off for a run, I literally went into your mountain, for several hours I paced the crowded forest, danced with gypsies and floated with spirits, hearing this playlist saved my day... thank you

@nnewtonb I'm so glad :) Music can be very powerful when you let it carry you. I plan to do a second part at some point plus a shorter Piano Sessions one so keep an eye out. I got a bit carried away and had a huge long description of the festival that I had to cut down so I feel the need to continue!

Oh, this mix was great but then you also included a song by The Boss. I've seen that man play live and it was basically a religious experience. Anyway, I'd definitely attend your fantasy utopian Mountain Music festival, but until it becomes a reality, this playlist was a fantastic pick-up for the midsummer blues. <3

@Cephied_Variable Thanks - glad you enjoyed it! I saw him at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2012 and the 2 songs I included were the ones I enjoyed most from his set. He's definitely one of the greats! He was the last act of the festival and it was a really long set that finished with fireworks. Then I got a banoffee crepe and wandered round the sight in the middle of the night, taking it all in. The best <3

@soso_sunshine I saw him with just the E-Street band on probably the same tour he hit that festival during. I was in the second row from the stage and during the encore he actually grabbed my hat and stuck it on Steve Van Zandt just to be cute. I was lucky I got that hat back!!!! Whenever I tell my dad's friends that Springsteen touched it they're super impressed ;). Music festival are amazing - not many come to my corner of the woods (we get lucky sometimes) but the few I've been to are almost more transcendent than concerts. You're amazing lucky to have seen even a handful of the bands in this list. (~-_-)~

@Cephied_Variable You have a good story to tell now too :) Transcendent - thats exactly how I would describe music festivals. It's about immersing yourself entirely in the music and the freedom. I love them. I'm going to The End of the Road festival next month (which is where the playlist pic is from, I believe). Can't wait!
