Notes

Actions are held to be good or bad, not on their own merits, but according to who does them, and there is almost no kind of outrage - torture, the use of hostages, forced labour, mass deportations, imprisonment without trial, assassination, the bombing of civilians - which does not change its moral colour when it is committed by 'our' side...The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.

@Deathinteresse I couldn't guess the percentages since my music is too fragmented and unorganized after losing a hard drive a couple years ago, but my biggest areas (in no particular order) are 1) soundtracks 2) indie rock/alternative 3) metal 4) punk/hc and 5) International 50s-70s stuff. Those sections kind of tower over the rest.

@Deathinteresse Oh right! "Record." Ha. In that case, my 12" records are all over the place and extremely random (I mainly wander in to a record store and buy things I've never heard of with fun covers), though basically all of my 7" records are punk/hc/etc.

@Btrxz I have no balance and couldn't skate to save my life! Re: nostalgia: I recently bought a few new hardcore/d-beat/crust purchases from Profane Existence, kind of on a whim, and have been getting back into everything fast, loud, and extreme. I'll be compiling more nostalgic mixes like this until something else shiny catches my eye.

@School97 Due to the 500 character limit, I had to remove the attribution. It's from Orwell, but you're right in suggesting it sounds like Chomsky; it absolutely does! When I was 17 ('97), I discovered both Crass and Chomsky, both of which inform my world views to this very day. Cheers sir!

@School97 My first Crass album was Penis Envy, I have a card catlog that Noam Chomsky used and in 1997 I was in my 30th year.
