David Haller is a character with a rather unfortunate history. The only son of Charles Xavier, he spent his childhood either strapped to a table in an induced coma, or in an autistic fugue state from which his trauma-induced Dissociative Identity Disorder made escape impossible. He's been a victim, a villain, and a hero at different times in his life, when all he really wanted was to be a normal kid with a father who was proud of him.
