Sweet Caroline is the creator and founder of The Hula Hoop Girl, an Embodied Movement Meditation Practice that guides women to reconnect to their own natural born rhythm while feeling empowered to self-resource and self-express through the transformational power of body play. Caroline's life work, grounded in women's health and women's empowerment, began at the young age of 21, when her beautiful mother Grace, passed away from Breast Cancer just three months after her diagnosis. It was at that moment that Caroline began her soul work.

A practicing oncology nurse for over 12 years, Caroline holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) degree, is a certified Breast Care Nurse, a 200hr Registered Hatha Yoga Teacher, a certified One Hoop One Love Elemental Hoop Dance Teacher, and a certified 5 Elements Ecstatic Dance Facilitator and is a Co-Facilitator for the Elemental Hoopdance Teacher Training Program. Caroline’s Masters Thesis “Hoop Dancing to Prevent and Decrease Burnout and Compassion Fatigue Among Nurses” has been published both in the Journal of Emergency Nursing and the University of California San Diego’s Nursing Journal. She works closely with women diagnosed with breast cancer, providing loving support and guidance throughout their surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments.

Caroline’s ecstatic hoop dance flow has been described as mesmerizing, whimsical, and Graceful. Her teaching style has been described as authentic, nurturing, playful and empowering. She is a movement guide, a poet, a writer, an Earth advocate, and a women's advocate. Her life’s work as an Embodied Movement Meditation Educator and Nurse Educator is soulfully dedicated to guiding women to move into and dance in the center of their joy through the exploration of their own rhythmic expression through the gateway of the body, while feeling empowered to share their uniqueness with the world.
Throughout Caroline's nursing career, Caroline craved grounding, balance, and peace with the many challenges that she faced with her work in oncology nursing.

While living in New York City, Sweet Caroline found the art and practice of the flow arts through yoga and hoopdance and experienced first hand the transformational power that these movement meditation practices had on her mind, body, and soul balance. After much dedication to yoga and hoopdancing, Caroline spent 1 month on Sri Swami Satchidananda's ashram, where she learned the art, philosophy, and practice of Integral Hatha Yoga and achieved her Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification 200 Hour. In addition, Caroline received training and certification in Restorative Yoga for Cancer Survivors through Prana Yoga in La Jolla, California. Through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Caroline holds a certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and as a Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN).

Caroline is a writer and poet and in 2010, published her first poem "We Are Here to Remember" in the Journal of Palliative Medicine. In 2014, Caroline achieved her Masters of Science and Nursing Degree specializing in Education (MSN) and published her article "Hoop Dancing to Prevent and Decrease Burnout and Compassion Fatigue Among Nurses" in the Journal of Emergency Nursing and the UCSD Nursing Journal. She also achieved her certification as a One Hoop One love Elemental Hoop Dance Teacher, a powerful program developed and guided by the beloved and internationally recognized and loved women's empowerment embodiment educator and mentor, Shakti Sunfire. In addition, she achieved her 5Elements Ecstatic Dance Activation Facilitators Certification; a practical & theory training in dance therapy & shamanic earth wisdom created and developed by her teacher and deeply loved Shaman, Malaika Darville.

Caroline's life's work is devoted to gracefully and creatively guiding, educating, and empowering women, women diagnosed with breast cancer, and healthcare professionals through embodied movement meditation practices through hoop dance, ecstatic dance, and yoga for self-exploration, self-acceptance, and self-empowerment.
