here are some songs to listen to when you want to drive to your boyfriend's house but you can't take your dad's car so you end up spending the day procrastinating homework and walking two miles by yourself to deposit a $10 birthday check from your emotionally distant grandparents before the bank closes. these songs may also be suitable to listen to when you're driving to your boyfriend's house, but i really wouldn't know.

Far from being your best mix (according to me, of course, and even if it would probably be perfect for a trip to your boyfriend's house), but I like it, and I'm so glad to have listened to it because it's the first thing I've been listening to through a computer since my own computer crashed at the very beginning of this new year. My computer suddenly died on the 4th of January, killing my iTunes library as a collateral damage, and I have no money to buy a new one. A friend of mine recently gave me a very old one (end of the 90's). It doesn't work very well but I can listen to music on the internet again, which is the most important thing.
I think that listening to your mixes and following your funny, arty, creative, clever, smart and passionate life via the internet were some of the things I missed the most during my forced rest and internet detoxification. Anyway, you probably don't care about this (and I won't blame you) but I had to tell somebody that I'm glad to be back on the internet, even if nobody cares at all, and you were on my way. As a matter of fact, you're always on my way every time I open my internet. Don't ask me why. That's the way it is. And I like it like that.

First of all, I didn't know that someone, a band called Black Lips, had made an English version of Jacques Dutronc's French song : "Hippie Hippie Hourrah". What a (good) surprise! I love this ironic song making fun of the Hippies. "Truth" by Alexander and "Baby I'm a Foolish Man" by Sean Coury are very good. Never heard of thoses guys before. And don't you think that Florence Welch has got a voice/way of singing incredibly close to Karen O's, the singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ?
(Good grief! I'm wondering if you're not thinking "I would have prefered that nobody gives him that old and bad computer"... )
