in the first volume, i chose the most forward thinking and challenging artists who experimented with what at the time was a newly discovered form of music, in the second volume i looked at how it developed as an art form after the rise of punk and new wave, and in this volume, well, there's not really a particular theme. in the 2000s and 2010s people had a much larger exposure to all kinds of music via the internet, and therefore, music as a whole as become a much grander, accessible and easier art form to get into.
here, we have some 8-bit punk, some glitched-out ambient shoegaze, neo-psychedelia, flat-out noise rock, some lo-fi folk rock, and of course, death grips.
