Notes
Rock & roll evolved in the USA during the late 1940s and early 1950s primarily from genres such as blues, jump, jazz, gospel music, and country music. In the earliest rock and roll styles of the late 1940s and early 1950s, piano or saxophone was often the lead instrument, later replaced by guitars by the late 1950s. The 50s were exciting times as people experienced the first decade of rock & roll and observed as it continually changed forms. Enjoy this second volume of early rock & roll!
