CLYTEMNESTRA
Clytemnestra was the daughter of Tyndareus and Leda, the King and Queen of Sparta. She was the twin-half sister of Helen of Troy.

She was the wife of Agamemnon, and Queen of Mycenae by that marriage. She is one of the most notorious women in Greek Mythology: sexually faithless, deceitful, murderous. Clytemnestra is the incarnation of ancient anxieties about women and power.

After her sister's abduction, Clytemnestra's husband killed their daughter, Iphigenia, as a sacrifice. For the ten years Agamemnon was away at Troy, she plotted her revenge. She found a partner and lover in Aegisthos. When her husband returned, she murdered him with an ax.
