Violet is a bit touchy emotionally, sometimes breaking down if you press the wrong buttons. Most times, however, she's wine-drinking, pack-a-day-smoking, rude as hell. Her generosity is a privilege to those in need; not many people ever truly see her kind side. Her best friend and ex-roommate Nick snapped and stabbed her in the arm after she tried to hide his needles. He went to prison for killing his dealer later that night. He, being her only solid rock, caused her to simply break. Over the course of the story, she lets go of all that yadda yadda yadda and she learns to be happy again.
