This mix was created in memory of a very dear friend who committed suicide several years ago. October 28th is his birthday. All tracks have been taken directly from his music files. I came across this email correspondence where we discussed some sad music, in which he said:

"It's like every time I hear the song I hear this conversation in my head:

VNV: This feeling is not sadness, this feeling is not joy
I truly understand, Please, don't cry now.
Please don't go, I want you to stay
I'm begging you please, please don't leave here.
I don't want you to change for all the hurt that you feel.

Me: Well, thank you, it's good to know I'm not the only one,
but I mean that doesn't change the way it feels or how it is,
how can I feel any comfort with the way the world is?"
