the outlaw had never known peace. he knew prairie fires, shootouts, spurs digging into skin, war dripped from his veins just as smoke was pushed in and out of his lungs. his life never allowed a peaceful heartbeat, never an ounce of tranquility, but that was where jesse found himself time after time. always a duel with the world while sheriffs watched on. but his tar-damaged vocals still hummed trail songs, his mind still dreamed in sepia, & that was how he liked it.
