Notes
Freedom was around the corner. A symptom: the growing unrest of the censors, getting Carpal Tunnel from sharpening all those red pencils. To avoid their scrutiny bands wrote instrumentals and lyrics in English. The colonial war would mean the regime’s demise but, still, each false move meant a knock on the door from the secret police. This is a playlist documenting paranoia. It would all abruptly change on April 1974 with the Carnation Revolution. Free at last! Sure enough, the music got worse.
