It might be that I have said all there is to say or it might just be the particular way the sun warmed my face, but for a moment I didn't feel sadness. I didn't feel empty or helpless, I felt OK. In this moment being alone didn't seem so scary. It will still be sad, and I will still be sad, but it will be OK.
