Did you know the first album I bought all by myself was surf music? It was 1963, I was eight years old. It was in a markdown bin at King's supermarket in Halifax. I remember feeling excited - it seemed like such a grown thing to do - and anxious - I didn't know the musicians or band names. What if I didn't like it? As I recall, it was okay, but I wasn't all that thrilled with the songs. I can't even remember who the group was.
